Lyme Regis Town Council, Dorset

We were asked by Lyme Regis Town Council, located in Dorset, to provide a quotation for a system for live video recording of the council meetings to post onto their website.  

There are off the shelf systems for this type of project, but they tend to be designed for HD recording of lectures and meetings for large organisations and cost many thousands.

We decided we could put together our own PC based system running the excellent vMixsoftware.

This allows simultaneous capture and live video mixing and can be programmed with a simple user template to show the 3 cameras we needed as windows with a further space left for text information.   Using 3 low cost CCTV dome cameras and our own radio boundary microphone system, we were able to capture images and sound from meetings in this historic guildhall for broadcast on the web.

An important requirement was simplicity of operation and vMix allowed us to set up templates in a way that a member of staff could set the system recording with a minimum of training.
